Promoting the Circular Economy in Antofagasta: Green Leader Will Award Winners of the 1st Drawing and Painting Contest 'I Close the Loop'
Antofagasta, August 10, 2023 In an effort to promote environmental awareness from an early age and encourage sustainable practices, Green Leader, the leading company in Circular Economy solutions, has successfully concluded its first Drawing and Painting Contest for schoolchildren in Antofagasta. The contest, titled 'I Close the Loop,' encouraged young people to express their creativity and vision regarding the use of waste to extend its lifecycle, thereby reducing the burden on landfills and contributing to environmental conservation.
This innovative contest attracted nearly fifty participants of various ages, from preschoolers to 17-year-olds, who shared their ingenious representations of how to give waste a new purpose. The initiative was highly praised for its focus on educating future generations about the importance of the circular economy.
Javier Ramírez, CEO of Green Leader, highlighted the significance of this initiative by emphasizing that less than 10% of resources and raw materials globally are reused or revalued annually, resulting in a significant accumulation of waste. "Our mission is to raise awareness from an early age, empowering children to be agents of change in the transition to a more sustainable world," said Ramírez.
The winners of the contest in the three categories were selected based on the originality and creativity of their drawings:
